Study tour to China widens cultural and community links
Students share their aims for the China Study Tour prior to departure
Fourteen of our Chinese language students have embarked on an exciting study tour to China.
Departing Thursday 10 April 2025, the immersive cultural experience provides students with a deeper understanding of Chinese culture, language and history, and builds connections with our sister school Hangzhou No. 7 High School and wider Chinese community.
Students and staff will visit Shanghai, take a Beijing cruise to the Summer Palace, explore Nanluoguxiang Street markets West of Tiananmen Square, Beijing’s iconic National Stadium, Terracotta Warriors and the Great Wall of China including an overnight high-speed bullet train to Hangzhou to stay with host families and visit our sister school Hangzhou No. 7 High School.
Cultural activities and living with host families will widen links and improve languages with students adapting to a new environment being immersed in ancient Chinese traditions and traveling for some, the first time overseas.

About
The China Study Tour held every 2 years aims to build connections with peers and educators at our sister school, foster independence, confidence, and resilience to inspire students in their artistic and academic pursuits and contribute to their personal development and future success.
The sister school relationship with Hangzhou No. 7 High School was established in 2015 when we first introduced Chinese as a language at our school. The partnership provides reciprocal opportunities for students to travel to China, and the Hangzhou No. 7 High School students also visit our school.
