Melville SHS student Dean Morris (Year 10) has been awarded a very special title, as Junior Ambassador of the RSPCA.
Dean is the founder of Give Our Strays A Chance (GOSAC) and RSPCA Community Outreach Coordinator Nat Foster attended his yearly event to raise funds. She recommended he apply to be an Ambassador
RSPCA Community Outreach volunteer Janet Ingham spotted Dean at the local shopping centre promoting GOSAC and suggested him as a Junior Ambassador.
He has had a long term dedication to GOSAC, the charity he created to save stray animals and encourage people to adopt pets from animal shelters.
“GOSAC started as a one-off leadership project and the first GOSAC day was a huge success, people from all over the city came to help the animals,” he said. “Suddenly I found myself in a position where I just had to keep going.” He said the most rewarding part was knowing he was helping give stray animals a second chance.
