Rising netball stars in state and WANL selections

Melville Senior High School is one of only a select group of schools endorsed by Netball WA as a Tier 1 Specialist Netball Program.

Our Specialist Netball Program provides students with opportunities in coaching, umpiring and competing in local state, national and international matches.

Congratulations to outstanding netballers Lana Nicholls and Leah Carucci who both debuted in the 2025 Gold Industry Group Western Australian Netball League (WANL) 21U competition, and Olivia Evans Year 8 selected in the School Sport WA 15U state team.

  • Lana Nicholls –Year 11 player for Fremantle Sharks, Gold Industry Group WANL 21U and Rossmoyne Netball Club, sponsored by Apex Geoscience
  • Leah Carucci– Year 12 player for the Fremantle Sharks Futures Program, Gold Industry Group WANL 21U, and Palmyra Rebels Netball Club sponsored by Oushk Palmyra.
  • Olivia Evans – Year 8 selection in the School Sport WA 15U state team.

An exciting aspect of the netball program is exclusive access to high performance coaching clinics held throughout the year with Netball WA and affiliate netball clubs. Conducted by renowned international coaches and current Australian players, students meet Australian netball players and learn about the lifestyle and discipline required to be an elite athlete.

Applications for our 2026 Netball program close Saturday 3 May 2025 followed by Netball Trials onsite.
