On November 27, Melville Senior High School hosted its inaugural STEM Blast event!

STEM Blast culminates our year as the Governor’s STEM School fo the Year and celebrates our finalist position as Australian Education Awards Best STEM Program finalist. All learning areas hosted a booth in the STEM Blast, and we we’re very fortunate to have some extremely enthusiastic participants from outside the school including: Curtin University School of Nutrition and Food Science, Murdoch University, Boston Consulting Group, Curtin STEMOutreach, Wireless Hill Museum and The Water Corporation!

Throughout the course of the day from 12:30pm – 5:00pm, STEM Blast had approximately 450 Melville Senior High School students, Year 6 Transition Day Primary School Students, parents, families, pre-service teachers and distinguished guests attend the event. This was a fantastic achievement for the first time running the event.

Thank you to all who were involved in creating this fantastic event, we look forward to next year in hosting an even bigger and better STEM Blast!
